SYMBOISE CARAÏBE - HIKING ON THE CIMARRONES PATH (MAROONAGE)

Proposé par Hiking in Guadeloupe - Volcano, forest and waterfalls

ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION

It is a hike through the humid forest on the upper side of Petit-Bourg. After an approach walk, we visit the only remains of Neg'marrons huts known to date in Guadeloupe, before making a hook to visit a magnificent natural site. This loop will allow you to vary the pleasures between ecology (the functioning of the rainforest), history (the Neg'marrons are slaves having fled captivity) and relaxation (bathing in river).

This loop tour lasts approximately 4 hours, with breaks every 10-15 min to explain what you have in front of your eyes and a (optional) swimming break in the river.

The difference in altitude of 180 m and the distance of 4 km does not necessarily reflect the real difficulty of this trail which must be classified as "average". Indeed, almost all the difference in altitude is concentrated on a short section with some delicate passages. Given these elements, this hike should be reserved for people in good physical condition, without major physical problems (breathing, balance, heart, etc).

Note also that with Yoann, your guide passionate about ecology, this hike has obtained the label "Esprit parc" awarded by the National Park of Guadeloupe.
