Père Labat Distillery

La Père Labat Distillery: the oldest in Marie-Galante

HISTORY

Located in Grand Bourg on the island of Marie-Galante, Père Labat is the oldest distillery on Marie-Galante, where 100% of the cane is cut by hand.

Founded in 1726 by Demoiselle Poisson as a small sugar mill, it wasn't until the 19th century that the estate was bought by the Rameau family and transformed into a distillery.

The last sugar-cane island in the Caribbean, Marie-Galante's limestone soil offers immense potential for the distilleries located there.

Père Labat's plantation is made up of classic and organic cane.

Features:
>> The water used to make Père-Labat’s rum comes from a spring on the estate
>> 100% of the cane is cut by hand
>> The two columns used are Creole type and distil at 70.7
