SYMBOISE CARAÏBE - HIKING IN THE CARIBBEAN MOUNTAINS

Guadeloupe is an exceptional island for nature lovers : it abounds in places more beautiful than the others. One of this place, very little visited and almost secret, is located at the southern part of Basse-Terre: it is the Caribbean mountains. This massif is traversed by many traces, but the loop of the Morne Grande Voûte is undoubtedly the most beautiful and the most interesting to me. It is not too long, not signposted and offers other advantages: a unique vegetation (including many orchids), beautiful views of the Soufriere and Basse-Terre, impressive passages on ridges ... and a Silence of incredible purity.

The hike takes about 3h30, with breaks every 15-20 min. It is classified difficult: one must be able to walk 3h on a relatively hilly terrain and not present a major physical problem (breathing, balance, heart, etc).

Also note that with Yoann, your guide passionate with ecology, this hike has obtained the label "Esprit parc" awarded by the National Park of Guadeloupe.
